It's All About The Shoes

Greetings, my friends! This should come as no surprise that my first post is about the shoes. It’s exactly how the madness started for me, at the impressionable age of six, lusting over a pair of red, patent-leather, crisscross, sling back wedges while I was visiting with my family in Italy.

This is what started my obsession with all things fashion.

You see, shoes not only make the outfit, but they make the outfit wearable.

By wearable I mean, does the shoe correspond to the weather? Never a good idea to wear suede in the rain and presents my case in point: shoes come first and build your daily outfit from there.

And while I’m not suggesting an obscene quantity of shoes (although I won’t judge you if that’s your thing) I am suggesting an alternate pair so that you don’t wear the same pair on back-to-back days.

There are health reasons for this; check it out here:  here

Here’s the Cliff notes version:

1)      Fact: Your feet sweat, and you need to allow your shoes time to dry, hence allowing the odor which has accumulated to dissipate.

2)      Fact: Allowing your shoes said time to rest, extends their life (this fact holds true for us humans too, BTW.)

3)      Fact: You should not only keep your mind sharp, but your feet too. Switching shoes allows your feet to adopt to a different foot bed, keeping them active, engaged and healthy (again, same for what we humans need to stay healthy.)

I bid you farewell until next time.

In love and fashion,
